Proceeds will go to the victim’s families

Getty NME News Desk, 6th July 2016 Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, P!nk, Britney Spears and 20 other artists, have contributed to a charity single raising money for the victims of the Orlando mass shooting.
Proceeds from ‘Hands’, an original song, will go towards the helping the families of victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting fund medical care, counselling and will also be used for education, according to Billboard.
The song was written by Justin Tranter (co-writer of Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’), Julia Michaels and Bloodpop and co-produced by Mark Ronson. It also features also Gwen Stefani, Jason Derulo Halsey, Ty Herndon, Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons, Adam Lambert, The Trans Chorus of Los Angeles, MNEK, Alex Newell, Mary Lambert, Prince Royce, Jussie Smollett, Nate Ruess and RuPaul.
All the artists involved recorded their contributions separately from different parts of the world.

"We assigned everybody what we thought would be the best part for their voice," Tranter says, "and we asked them all to sing an additional part, just in case. But everybody got it done in time so we ended up with extra vocals."
‘Hands’ is not the only charity song to be released in aid of Orlando. Lopez and Lin-Manuel Miranda, writer and star of Broadway musical Hamilton, have collaborated on track, titled ‘Love Make the World Go Round’, to raise money for an Orlando mental health charity.
