Kesha's mother drops Dr Luke counterclaims

Pebe Selbert had accused the producer of 'intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress'

Getty Luke Morgan Britton, 28th April 2016 Kesha's mother has voluntarily dropped her counterclaims against Dr Luke, who her pop star daughter has accused of sexual assault.
In October 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit against her former producer and mentor (Lukasz Gottwald), citing "mental manipulation, emotional abuse and sexual assault". Dr Luke denies the allegations.
Earlier this month (April), Kesha failed in her legal bid to be released from her contract with pop producer Dr Luke (real name Lukasz Gottwald) and record label Sony. A New York judge threw the singer's contract release appeal case out of court after Sony said they will not push the artist to work exclusively with Dr Luke.
However, the legal action between Kesha and Gottwald continues, stretching across three states (New York, California and Tennessee). In Tennessee, Dr Luke is suing Kesha's mother Pebe Sebert for defamation and tortious interference. According to Gottwald, Sebert has "smeared" the producer by circulating Kesha's accusations of rape in the press.
In response, Sebert filed counterclaims of intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress. On Tuesday (April 26), she withdrew these claims. A statement from her attorney reads: "The litigation with Dr. Luke has been a nightmare for Mrs Sebert and her family. She has decided to move on and find peace and forgiveness in her heart rather than dwelling in the cancerous past of an ongoing lawsuit with no end in sight."

"Pebe Sebert's voluntary withdrawal of all her claims against Dr Luke is her acknowledgement that her claims are meritless," Dr Luke's attorney said in response to the news. "Dr Luke's defamation and other claims continue against Pebe and Kesha Sebert."
Meanwhile, Kesha has been pictured in the studio with electronic producer Zedd, less than two weeks after the pair teamed up live at Coachella. The singer joined EDM star Zedd during his opening weekend set at Coachella. Kesha sang the DJ/producer's song 'True Colors'.
