Kevin Spacey turns into a cat in trailer for family movie 'Nine Lives' – watch

Spacey's changing direction a little with this one…

Getty James Hendicott, 17th April 2016 Kevin Spacey turns into a cat in the trailer for a new family movie Nine Lives, out this summer.
In the movie, Spacey plays a rich dad at the head of a major corporation, failing to pay enough attention to his daughter. After being turned into the cat, Spacey's character will have to "earn" back his right to be human.
The blurb reads: "Rebecca (Malina Weissman)’s 11th birthday is here, and she wants the gift she wants every year, a cat. Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey, dad) hates cats, but he is without a gift and time is running out. His GPS directs him to a mystical pet store brimming with odd and exotic cats- where the store’s eccentric owner- Felix Perkins (Christopher Walken), presents him with a majestic tomcat, named Mr. Fuzzypants."
"En route to his daughter’s party, Tom has a terrible accident. When he regains consciousness he discovers that somehow, he has become trapped inside the body of the cat. Adopted by his own family, he begins to experience what life is truly like for the family pet, and as a cat, Tom begins to see his family and his life through a new and unexpected perspective. Meanwhile, his family adjusts to life with an odd and stubborn cat, and his son David (Robbie Amell), steps up in ways Tom never expected."

Spacey's current high-profile role as President Underwood in House Of Cards has recently led him to compare the president in the show to the American presidential race, and not particularly favorably.
"I'll go to my hotel room and wonder ‘have we gone too far … have we crossed the Rubicon” by creating “something unbelievable … then I turn on the TV and watch the news … then I think we haven’t gone far enough,” Spacey said.
He added: "We just need to remember he’s a fictional character and that some of the candidates running appear to be fictional too.”
