Stephen Merchant shaves head as he confirms 'Wolverine 3' role
Newly shorn actor will appear alongside Hugh Jackman in 2017 sequel
Marvel Photo: Marvel David Renshaw, 28th April 2016 Stephen Merchant will appear alongside Hugh Jackman in the next Wolverine film and shaved his head on Instagram to make the announcement.
The actor, writer and director is best known for his comedy work having created The Office and Extras alongside Ricky Gervais. He has also appeared in films including I Give It A Year and Hall Pass.
Although his role in the forthcoming blockbuster has yet to be confirmed, Merchant has shaved his head for the film. He posted a a video on Instagram with the caption: "An actor prepares #Wolverine3."

Jackman is due to start shooting a sequel to 2013's The Wolverine early next year for a planned 2017 release. Director James Mangold will once again be behind the camera.
Narcos actor Boyd Holbrook will also star in Wolverine 3, with Richard E Grant joining the cast in a 'villainous mad-scientist' role, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jackman first played Wolverine in 2000's X-Men and has now notched up six appearances as the popular comic book character: four in X-Men films and two as the star of standalone Wolverine movies.
He is also expected to reprise his role in X-Men: Apocalypse, which hits cinemas later this year.
