The Strokes announce LA show to support homeless charities

The gig will take place at the city's The Wiltern venue

Press Rhian Daly, 5th July 2016 The Strokes have announced a new show in Los Angeles in aid of three homeless charities.
The band will perform at The Wiltern on July 25 at the City Of Angels Benefit Concert.
The gig will support and raise funds for three local nonprofit organisations – The Center in Hollywood, Waste Not Want Not Now, and the Downtown Women's Centre. Each group support's the city's homeless community.
As Consequence Of Sound reports, Julian Casablancas said in a statement: "Homelessness and mental health are big issues in LA and we're happy to do a little something that can hopefully help a bit. The Center in Hollywood and Waste Not Want Not Now are great, well-intentioned and trustworthy charities doing wonderful work."
According to reports, the gig will be the band's only LA show of 2016.
The Strokes released the 'Future Present Past' EP last month (June 3), which marked their first release since 2013's 'Comedown Machine'.
The group headlined New York's Governors Ball festival on the day of the release. Their only other scheduled performance is a slot at Australia's Splendour In The Grass festival in Byron Bay.
